Our #1 goal is to end child hunger on weekends in our community. That’s why we feed kids on the weekends and provide food from our pantry to kids who are food insecure.
One-on-One Support
We listen to children and believe what they tell us, whether they need soap, a toothbrush, school supplies, or backpacks. We help them get what they need.
Celebrations & Events
Our kids can miss out on fun times. We bring community partners together to provide kids and their parents with food and opportunities to celebrate throughout the year.
Our Story
In October 2016, we learned that there were children who did not have anything to eat on Saturday or Sunday at the F Street Community Center. We Can Do This was launched to feed them.
Many children tell us this is the only meal they eat that day.
Since then, we have expanded our programs to give our kids what they need, from food and personal care items to school supplies and backpacks — and more. Above all, we give them love, caring, understanding, and trust.
Changing a Child’s Life
It takes a community – all of us working together — to provide services to our kids. Individual volunteers and groups are always welcome and needed to serve weekend meals. But there are many other ways to get involved. Whether you donate to our Food or Personal Care pantries, support an event, or help organize our school supply drive, you make a difference in the lives of children and youth.
